I noticed the posts about Canthan chests outside Maatu, so I ran 44 keys (20k) just to see what happened. Idk if this counts; I got q8 gothic axe 25 keys in. But, it's only 6-26 (2 off from max, good enuf?) If you guys would like a ss I could edit one in later.

so far from those Minotaur suggested above(different area, but still lvl19's) i've gotten 1 gold q9 16al Shield, and 1 q8 14-20 Grape butterfly sword. plus a dozen whites ranging around those thats. i can feel a q8 max gold coming ;P

I do it everynow and again, but i wont be grinding it that much now, would appreciate if people could still carry it on. Ima be doing Mattu Keep runs for a bit possibly, and try Dragon Moss in NM. Plus the Ravengers at BF sound like an awsome idea, not many people would of farmed there ever, so maybe the drops are still loaded

I farm wajjun bazaar nm pretty much the whole docks (except monk boss with rejuv sig) + lian

one of these dudes dropped me r8 fds 15/-10ar ( 2 years ago)

trying if i could get some more drops out of them, closest so far was a r8 grape +12 e offhand

I think one of the biggest issues to getting these sort of items is no one farms like they did in the past. I know that I use to chest run for 8 hours straight at times and solo farm like that as well in normal mode in the stranger areas. I personally can't play gw for more than an hour at a time if at all much less grind at vermin or another farm. I might have to do some ravager runs though as I always liked farming those since its a nice walk to them.

ive been doing a few chest runs in matuu and i have found that area to produce a nice amount of q8s in that area from NM. most are grapes. but some are gold. most of the gold q8s are 1-2 off from max tho. HM i havent seen any q8s yet. if anyone would like to try this run with me PM Sneak Peak Killer

EDIT: ID some of the HM golds. all of them for me so far have had perfect inherit mods/and removable mods. (rare for me as when i farm HM stuff their mods are always 1-2 off from max. (pongemi also gives u nice variation of skins. kurzick/canathan/plagueborn/jade skins

So before my final this morning I decided to do some reed bog runs and after only 5 chests.

A max q8 purple focus and 1 q7 1 off sword just in 5 chests. This area is always been the best bet imo of any possibility of farming q7 stuff as I have gotten some in the past just none that were good.

Ok, so i ran 38 chests there in normal mode (broke 5 lockpicks)

This was best drop i had :/

Other:

From 38 Chests i had
6 Gold items
3 Max dmg weapons

Will run more otherday

I did this and I didnt have any luck, ive had better drops from maatu keep runs, ut i did screen some of the drops i got from Reed Bog, lemme find them.

this wasnt from Reed Bog, it was from a maguuma bowman or whatever, I got bored and it dropped, it was a couple months ago, as well as the shield...

The q8's and q7's even in zones with a better chance still don't make them easy drops to farm. It still takes quite a lot of runs with generally crappy mods. If I could run the zone alone and be packing away q8's and q7's like nobodies business I wouldn't have posted the area but instead I want more people doing it to make more in circulation so I can buy them and maybe finish some of my sets.

And about ppl saying getting better drops from maatu, its obvious as theyre 450g chests when maguuna is 300g there is way bigger change for golds and theres higher lvl foes in Maatu, also skins from there are probably best from guildwars..

Maatu been confirmed drop r8's in normal mod for ages, but there hasnt been much r7's even in 2006, So were trying see if someting might still drop r7, due that ppl should farm vermins and run chests in such places as Maguuna jungle and maybe in desert of tyria.

Im thinking maybe outside of Magumma Tangle, if i remember theres a lot of Jungle Trolls around there, might be worth looking at, and as im getting my "solely built for nerfed ele sc 300e in a week uw" ele through all the games i cant test right now xD, once ive unlocked all towns ill venture out and see if i can find anything.

Hehe it was fun to see my own shield shown in this thread (the one I originally posted in Nice drops thread). I still have it, and its still for sale.

However, I decided to spend some time on the reed bog chests, and share my findings here. So far 20 chests opened, I got 4 goldies, 2 of them a req8 fire staff and axe, both nonmax.
Ill be back when I have opened more chests, will take some days becayse i have limited play time.

I'm running Maatu aswell, i'll post screeny as soon as i got a q8 max, so far a lot of purples, some golds, only 1 q12 Echovald though, and a q9 ornate, single modded... No q8 so far, and most 1 or 2 of max (some q9's though)

Farmed the Trolls in Reed Bog that you face just when you zone from Ettin's back. Did 1 clearing of the trolls so far and got 1 r8 Gold Flatbow 15-25 and r8 purple Twin Hammer 16-28. Way to far off max to mean anything. Might farm it for a couple hours later today to see whats there. (its easy to farm cause you can just zone in-and-out)

I just got this NM Chest running at Vizunah Square (The Undercity). I used to get lotsa perfect q9 oldschool shizzle in HM but i guess NM is actually better for q8's and stuff.

The staff is 1 dmg off max. dmg but meh with some luck q8's will eventually drop.
